Become a Volunteer!

The Master Family & Consumer Sciences Volunteer Program provides core training that increases the capacity of Extension volunteers to help people make informed decisions, enhance their quality of living, and meet unique challenges affecting their families, farms, communities and the economy.
Master FCS volunteer training and continuing education commitments vary depending on each county's expectations.
If you need the paper version of the form or specific details about your local program, contact your county FCS Extension Educator.

FCS Volunteer Representatives

Master FCS volunteers are representatives of the Oklahoma Cooperative Extension Service. Volunteers follow the research-based recommendations of the Cooperative Extension Service.
The title of Master FCS volunteer can be used by volunteers only when engaged in Extension Service-sponsored activities.

  • conduct educational programs in a nondiscriminatory manner
  • provide own transportation

  • solicit donations for supplies and materials
  • prepare instructional materials and samples

  • evaluation of program

Master FCS Online Training

If accepted into the Master FCS volunteer program, you will complete 3 online learning modules which will take approximately 3 hours to complete. Modules are based on original work by Montana State University in 2013-2014.

Online Training Post-Test

After completion of the online modules, contact your county educators to receive a password to enter the online post-test. If a written version is required, visit your county Extension office. 80% is required to pass the post-test. Your county educator will be informed of your score on the post-test.

Master FCS Volunteer Program Post-Test

Once the post-test has been successfully passed, your FCS Educator will contact you to set up a meeting time during which you will sign a Volunteer Agreement Form and watch OSU's Working with Minors video.

Your county FCS Educator may choose not accept your application for Master FCS Volunteer at any point in this process based on reference checks, background check, personal interview outcome, or current county needs.
