OHCE: Supporting Families Since 1935
Since its formation in 1935, when local groups were called Home Demonstration clubs, OHCE has worked to make families more resilient, with a greater ability to adapt to change. Early lessons dealt with food preservation, safe and healthy meal preparation, family relations, family finances, and children’s education—all of which remain incredibly relevant for today and beyond.
Affiliated Organizations
As an OHCE member, you also are a member of Associated Country Women of the World (ACWW) AND Country Women of the World (CWC – USA). OHCE members also have the opportunity to contribute to the OSU Extension Family and Consumer Sciences Ambassadors, a non-profit organization that supports OSU Extension Family and Consumer Sciences educators.
OHCE & Extension: Partnering to Strengthen Families
The Cooperative Extension Service at Oklahoma State University supports OHCE, a statewide, county-based organization. County Extension Educators in Family and Consumer Sciences advise OHCE groups, while state and district specialists collaborate on programs. Together, OHCE members and Extension Educators identify local family issues, shaping educational efforts to address community needs.
