The OSU Extension Nutrient Management Program provides an online resource dedicated
to the agricultural use of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium – NPK - which offers producer-friendly information about nutrient management, fertilizer
use and its precision application. The site also provides access to industry contacts,
publications and mobile applications.
It is impossible to provide an accurate fertilizer recommendation without an accurate
soil test, so many Oklahomans turn to another element of OSU Extension Nutrient Management
Program as well: the OSU Soil, Water and Forage Analytical Laboratory. Located in the basement of the north wing of Agriculture Hall on the university’s
Stillwater campus, the laboratory was established by the Oklahoma Cooperative Extension
Service to provide testing and analysis of plants, animal waste and water for the
state.
OSU Extension is one of two state agencies administered by the OSU Division of Agricultural
Sciences and Natural Resources and is a key part of the university’s state and federally
mandated teaching, research and Extension land-grant mission.
