Oklahoma Home and Community Education
Oklahoma Home and Community Education, Inc. is a program of continuing education in all aspects of home and community life. The organization’s ultimate mission is to educate its members to be well-informed and able to handle change in their homes and communities. Through its relationship with the Oklahoma Cooperative Extension Service, OHCE presents research-based information to its members.
Monthly educational lessons, leadership development and community service projects provide OHCE members an opportunity to apply this research based information in their homes and communities.
Parenting Classes
Parenting Classes are offered at the Marshall County Extension Office on an as-needed basis. Please contact us by calling (580) 795-3563 for more information or to schedule dates. There is no cost for these classes.
Healthy Oklahoma School Enrichment
The following programs are available for elementary, middle and high school teachers to request in their classrooms. Please contact (580) 795-3563 to schedule a class.
Kidnetics
Length of Program: 4 sessions
Length of Session: 30-45 minutes
Grades: 4th-5th
Kidnetics promotes healthy eating and active living in a way that is fun and relevant. Activities and handouts will inspire both kids and their families to move towards healthier lifestyles.
Jump Into Fitness
Length of Program: 4 sessions
Length of Session: 30-45 minutes
Grades: 3rd-5th
Oklahoma kids love sports, and this program utilizes youth’s love of fun competition to learn more about the foods they need to be healthy both on the field (or the court) and at home.
Kids in the Kitchen
Length of Program: 4 sessions
Length of Session: 30-45 minutes
Grades: 3rd-4th
Cost: $5.00 per child
Cooking with kids can be both educational and fun for them, but sometimes stressful for the adults! This program teaches youth about how to be safe in the kitchen, and what goes into creating a healthy meal. The last session kids will get a chance to prepare a healthy snack using techniques learned through the program.
Be Fit Kids
Length of Program: 4 sessions
Length of Session: 30-45 minutes
Grades: 3rd-5th
Be ready to be outside and moving in this action packed class. Youth will learn teamwork, sportsmanship and cooperation while being active and getting fit. This program combines information on exercise and eating right with lots of movement and fun! Each session will be packed full of games to get the kids in motion.
Power Foods

Oklahoma Nutrition Education
Offers the opportunity for you to receive valuable nutrition information in Johnston
and Marshall County. The Fresh Start program is a home or group setting that can be
fit to your needs either short or long term give you new ideas for improving your
diet and making the most of your food dollars. The program is at no cost. For more
