Sautéed Okra
Try a simple, healthier way of cooking your fresh okra by following this recipe.
Ingredients
- 1 pound small okra (3-inches long or less), about 4 cups
- 2 tablespoons canola oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4-1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon Kosher salt
Directions
- Remove stems from okra. Wash okra and dry well before moving to step 2.
- In a large skillet, heat oil over medium-high heat until quite hot. Add okra and sauté 3 to 4 minutes until almost crisp-tender.
- Add garlic, crushed red pepper and salt. Cook, stirring constantly for about 1 minute. Make sure garlic does not burn. Cooking is done when okra is crisp-tender.
- Serve immediately.
