This mushroom cream sauce is a great addition to any steak dinner.

Ingredients

  • 4 ounces button mushrooms, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons sour cream
  • 1/4 cup beef broth
  • 3 green onions, sliced with whites separated from greens
  • 2 tablespoon butter
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Drizzle of olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Steak

Directions

  1. Melt butter in hot skillet and add sliced mushrooms. Cook for at least 7 minutes, until mushrooms start to brown and crisp up. Remove mushrooms from pan and wipe clean with a paper towel
  2. Heat a drizzle of olive oil in pan. When hot, place seasoned steak in the skillet. Cook 4 minutes on each side- continue cooking until internal temperature reaches at least 145 degrees. Remove steak and set aside.
  3. Add drizzle of olive oil to pan. Add in garlic and whites of green onions. Cook until fragrant (about 30 seconds) then add in beef broth and bring to a simmer. Add in mushrooms and cook until slightly thickened. Remove from heat and stir in sour cream. Spoon over steak.
