Mushroom Cream Sauce (for Steak)
This mushroom cream sauce is a great addition to any steak dinner.
Ingredients
- 4 ounces button mushrooms, sliced
- 2 tablespoons sour cream
- 1/4 cup beef broth
- 3 green onions, sliced with whites separated from greens
- 2 tablespoon butter
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- Drizzle of olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Steak
Directions
- Melt butter in hot skillet and add sliced mushrooms. Cook for at least 7 minutes, until mushrooms start to brown and crisp up. Remove mushrooms from pan and wipe clean with a paper towel
- Heat a drizzle of olive oil in pan. When hot, place seasoned steak in the skillet. Cook 4 minutes on each side- continue cooking until internal temperature reaches at least 145 degrees. Remove steak and set aside.
- Add drizzle of olive oil to pan. Add in garlic and whites of green onions. Cook until fragrant (about 30 seconds) then add in beef broth and bring to a simmer. Add in mushrooms and cook until slightly thickened. Remove from heat and stir in sour cream. Spoon over steak.
