The sweet honey flavor in this honey spice bread recipe makes this a delicious desert bread that you can enjoy with a glass of milk or a warm cup of coffee.




  • 1 cup whole wheat flourTwo loaves of bread in white bread pans.
  • 1 cup all- purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon cloves
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 egg, well beaten
  • 1/2 cup honey



  1. Preheat oven to 350 F. Spray a 9x5-inch loaf pan with nonstick vegetable spray, then dust with flour. Shake out excess flour.
  2. Combine dry ingredients in a large bowl and whisk together.
  3. In a separate container mix together buttermilk, beaten egg and honey. Add to dry ingredients. Blend well to form a batter.
  4. Pour batter is not prepared 9x5-inch loaf pan.
  5. Bake 45 to 60 minutes. until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
