Honey Spice Bread
The sweet honey flavor in this honey spice bread recipe makes this a delicious desert bread that you can enjoy with a glass of milk or a warm cup of coffee.
Ingredients
- 1 cup whole wheat flour
- 1 cup all- purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 2 teaspoons cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon cloves
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 egg, well beaten
- 1/2 cup honey
Directions
- Preheat oven to 350 F. Spray a 9x5-inch loaf pan with nonstick vegetable spray, then dust with flour. Shake out excess flour.
- Combine dry ingredients in a large bowl and whisk together.
- In a separate container mix together buttermilk, beaten egg and honey. Add to dry ingredients. Blend well to form a batter.
- Pour batter is not prepared 9x5-inch loaf pan.
- Bake 45 to 60 minutes. until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
