Make a refreshing blueberry green tea at home to enjoy on a hot summer day.

Ingredients

  • 4 green tea bags
  • 2.5 cups water heated to 150 to 180oF (not boiling water)
  • 1 cup ice
  • 3 tablespoons honey
  • 1 cup fresh or frozen blueberries, thawed if frozen
  • 1/4 cup packed fresh mint leaves
  • 1/2 cup fresh lime juice

Directions

  1. Steep green tea bags in hot water about 3 minutes in a 1-quart glass measuring cup. Remove tea bags without squeezing.
  2. Stir in honey until dissolved.
  3. Add ice to cool tea to room temperature.
  4. Combine blueberries and mint leaves in the bottom of a large pitcher. Use a wooden spoon or muddler to mash berries and mint together until juicy.
  5. Add lime juice and tea/honey mixture. Stir to combine.
  6. To serve strain through a sieve into 4 glasses filled with ice. Garnish with mint leaves and a lime slice if desired.
