Blueberry Green Tea
Make a refreshing blueberry green tea at home to enjoy on a hot summer day.
Ingredients
- 4 green tea bags
- 2.5 cups water heated to 150 to 180oF (not boiling water)
- 1 cup ice
- 3 tablespoons honey
- 1 cup fresh or frozen blueberries, thawed if frozen
- 1/4 cup packed fresh mint leaves
- 1/2 cup fresh lime juice
Directions
- Steep green tea bags in hot water about 3 minutes in a 1-quart glass measuring cup. Remove tea bags without squeezing.
- Stir in honey until dissolved.
- Add ice to cool tea to room temperature.
- Combine blueberries and mint leaves in the bottom of a large pitcher. Use a wooden spoon or muddler to mash berries and mint together until juicy.
- Add lime juice and tea/honey mixture. Stir to combine.
- To serve strain through a sieve into 4 glasses filled with ice. Garnish with mint leaves and a lime slice if desired.
