Sitobion avenae
English grain aphid is not an economically important pest of winter wheat in Oklahoma. It is a vector of barley yellow dwarf virus.
English grain aphid is more common late in the growing season, and prefers to feed on the awns and wheat heads.
Bright green with long legs and cornicles, which give it a spidery appearance. Measures 1/8 inch when mature. Both the legs and cornicles are black.
