The goal of Family and Consumer Sciences is to help Oklahoma's families, youth, and individuals develop and grow in safe and healthy ways. This is approached through research-based education that focuses on building upon our understanding of the different aspects of their lives and how they affect others. We survey the population in Oklahoma in each county through issue scanning and our local program advisory committees (PACs) to learn about their needs and how we can help provide education that helps people improve society and the economy.

Family & Consumer Sciences helps communities, families, youth and individuals address issues of health, wealth and well-being through research-based Extension education and programs that are proven to work.

Co-Parenting for Resilience:
Helping Parents to Help Their Children

How parents handle the divorce can make it better or worse for their children. Co-parenting classes teach parents to handle their emotions better and to keep their children out of the middle of their divorce. They also offer many positive tips on how to talk with your child to help him or her to adjust more quickly to the divorce.
