About Me
I always wanted to work in OSU Extension, even while teaching in the Oklahoma public school system for 22 years: family and consumer sciences at the high school level and culinary arts at the technology center in Poteau. Education is more than just having good information. I feel my experience as a teacher and knowledge about how different people learn helped me slip seamlessly from the school system to Extension. Family and consumer sciences literally affect everyone.
As an Extension educator, I develop and coordinate timely and relevant programs in partnership with local and state government agencies, schools, churches and civic organizations. I also serve as adviser for four Oklahoma Home and Community Education volunteer groups. I earned my bachelor’s degree in family and consumer sciences and my master’s degree in education from Oklahoma’s Northeastern State University in Tahlequah.
