About Me

Working as a Nutrition Education Assistant for the last 13 years has consisted of a lot of training courses, working with kids and families, and educating various communities about how to make healthy choices. Every part of my job is rewarding and that is why I continue to choose Extension.

 

I mainly engage with low income families when I teach my nutrition classes. We discuss how they can shop, plan, and stretch their food dollars. My other certifications include teaching Coordinated Approach to Child Health, Youth Yoga, MyPlate, Teen Cuisine, and Show me Nutrition which are all programs designed to help our youth make good and healthy choices.  

 

I get paid to work with kids and make a difference in the lives of others. Half the time it doesn’t even feel like work. Not to mention, my work environment feels like one big happy family and I feel lucky to be a part of it.
