Ag$ense
NorthEast Ag Educators Offer Ag$ense 2022 Program to Cost Stricken Producers.
It’s no secret that input costs continue to increase in our daily lives. However, that is
also true for the average costs of running a cow. OSU Ag Educators in the Northeast District decided to do something about that and offer producer programming that teaches strategies to mitigate rising input costs. Through the input of County Educators and assistance of Area Specialists, a six-module curriculum was developed in the areas of Animal Health, General Livestock, Ag Economics and Agronomy.
This program is being presented within each Northeast Oklahoma county between March 15 – April 30 in a two-meeting format. This is a district-wide, Educator led programming thrust. The format allows producers to attend both meetings at a location near home, or travel to a neighboring county if one or both of those dates work better for their schedules. Each night will include hands-on exercises targeted at developing a better production and economic baseline for each operation and the corresponding strategies to make improvements. Download the Ag$ense flyer to share.
Special Accommodations: Persons with disabilities who require alternative means for communication or program information, or reasonable accommodation, need to contact the local OSU Extension Educator at least two weeks prior to the event.
Listed below are the dates to attend an Ag$ense session. Topics covered in the sessions include:
- Livestock Production – Implants, Ionophores, Hay Feeding, Optimizing the Cowherd
- Animal Health – Vaccines, Dewormers, Reproductive Success, Disease Mitigation
