About Me

Advocating for healthy eating habits and an active lifestyle is an important job but also a fun one. As a nutrition education assistant, I get the opportunity to help youth and their families. I teach Show Me Nutrition classes to first through fifth graders and six lessons of home economics courses to students in the sixth grade through high school for the Teen Cuisine program. In the summer, we offer the Kik It Up curriculum to ages 6-15, and one-time programs for Pre-K and kindergarten classes are available any time.

 

I also work with adults in the Fresh Start Nutrition for Me program. This job gives me so much purpose because I can see the difference that the educational materials and helpful tips make to the people in Muskogee County and surrounding areas. I enjoy watching children grow and develop an awareness of good nutrition and healthier food choices.
