Cydney Files Memorial 4-H Scholarship

The McClain County 4-H Hall of Fame Scholarship was renamed the “Cydney Files Memorial Scholarship” in memory of Cydney Files, 1985-1998, a McClain County 4-H member from Blanchard, Oklahoma.  This award is a $500 scholarship, granted to the McClain County 4-H Hall of Fame recipient upon completion of one full semester at a college/university. 

 

This scholarship will be presented to the McClain County 4-H Hall of Fame recipient.

  • Eligibility

    McClain County 4-H Hall of Fame winners will be eligible for payment of the McClain County 4-H Scholarship after completion of their first semester as a full-time student of an institution of higher education, provided documentation is received by the McClain County 4-H Booster Club showing the individual has a cumulative grade point average for all courses of not less than a 2.0 (C average) and that the student is enrolled for a second semester.

  • Requirements

    To qualify and receive the McClain County 4-H Scholarship, the individual must:

    • Have completed high school or passed all high school equivalency tests.
    • Enroll at an accredited institution of higher education. This includes any accredited university, college, vocational or business school.
    • Enroll and complete one semester as a full-time student. The McClain County Booster Club assumes full-time enrollment as 12 hours unless proof is provided.
    • Enroll as a full-time student for the following semester.
    • Obtain a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.0 on a 4.0 scale
    • Submission of scholarship requests are the responsibility of the recipient.
  • Exceptions

    The following exceptions may apply:

    • To receive an extension due to postponed enrollment, submit a written explanation detailing the reason for the postponement.
    • Individual may receive one extension on their scholarship due to low grades. A written request for the extension must be sent to the McClain County Booster Club by the given deadline for materials to be submitted. A copy of grades and proof of enrollment for the upcoming semester must be included.
