BBQ Contest
- Check in: August 22, 2025, 6 p.m.
- Judging: 3 judges will evaluate presentation, taste, and tenderness. Undercooked meat will be disqualified. Please see below for meat turn-in times.
- Tear-down: All participants will be required to clean up their entire area!! Please be good patrons as this is a community facility.
- Location: 412 Todd Lane, West Side of the building

Activity & Contest Details
No alcohol is allowed on premises!
- Meat Options: Pork Butt, Brisket, Ribs, Mystery Meat (provided to contestants)
- Contestants will provide their own meat which needs to be unseasoned at the beginning of the competition.
- After 8 p.m. meat can be seasoned by the contestant using the seasoning of choice (provided by the contestant)
- Contestant can add their favorite BBQ Sauce
- Grills can include Wood and Charcoal
- Each competitor will be given 1 to-go box for the judges to display their end product.
- All meats must be ready for judging on Saturday, August 23 at 11 a.m.
- There will be a people’s choice sampling from 12-1 p.m. The Jackson County Fairboard will sell bracelets for the public to purchase and try smoked meats. The public will then vote on their favorite!! People’s Choice winners will receive a portion of the proceeds. Jackson County 4-H will provide drink, side of beans, piece of bread, and pickle spear to complete plates.
- There will be a mystery meat challenge for anyone who would like to participate, meat for that contest will be provided!
- All grills must be monitored overnight, they cannot be left unattended!
Prizes
1st place in each meat division will receive $150. Mystery Meat winner will receive $50.
