About Me
I became familiar with OSU Extension as a 4-H’er in Oklahoma. I was involved in the horse project, and because of the positive influence and encouragement I received from my Extension educator, I competed on the local, state, regional and national levels in speech contests. My experiences as a 4-H’er are what led me to go to college and become an educator. Making a difference and being a mentor to young people was important to me.
My Extension career began at K-State Research and Extension in 2003. In 2006, I moved to Cherokee County as the 4-H Educator, and continued my work in 2008 in Stephens County where I stayed for five years. My career then took me to the Southwest District office as the 4-H program specialist in 2013. Now in Cotton County, I still find myself looking forward to new adventures every day. No matter what part of Extension we work for, we get to make a difference. We get to do something different every day. Sometimes it’s something in which we have a background, and other times, we’re learning right alongside the families and youth who are involved in Extension programs. I couldn’t ask for a better or more fulfilling career.
I earned a bachelor’s degree in animal science and a master’s degree in agricultural education, both from OSU.
