About Me
In 2001, I was teaching students as a high school educator in Chickasha when I was recruited to join OSU Extension, which I quickly saw offered more freedom and variety than what was provided in a traditional school classroom. I started on the right foot thanks to my mentor and first County Extension Director, Joe Benton. In our largely urban Cleveland County, I strive to create classes and other programs that promote a better understanding and awareness of not only specific beneficial subject matter, but also our county’s urban and rural aspects.
Summer is one of my favorite times of the year, in part because our office is so busy. On average, I conduct 15 different summer classes revolving around a host of timely, relevant subjects. I like to think of my various activities as putting my own education to work. I hold a bachelor’s degree in family and consumer sciences, a master’s degree in secondary school administration and a doctoral degree in foundations of education.
