About Me
My personal mission is to help students and adult participants to become critical and creative thinkers, and always life-long learners.
I became an educator because of the influence of two very special teachers in my life. One was my elementary teacher and the other my home economics teacher. Both instilled in me a desire to learn and encouraged me to continue learning, and to share that inspiration with others.
My elementary teacher was a part of my whole life. First she was my teacher, and then became a co-worker at school, part of my church family, a very dear friend and, ironically, I became her teacher and leader in OHCE. My home economics teacher helped me to see that life can always be better, and wholesome and fulfilling.
I followed the same pathway as these two wonderful women by becoming an elementary teacher and home economics teacher. I even followed the same pathway as my home economics teacher in the Extension Service by working in the same counties as she had previously worked. I hold a bachelor in education degree, in family and consumer science and elementary education from East Central University; master’s degree in education from Oklahoma State University and East Central University; and have done post-graduate work in administrative and counseling areas.
