OSU Department of Agricultural Economics announces lineup for Rural Economic Outlook Conference

The Oklahoma State University Department of Agricultural Economics will host its annual Rural Economic Outlook Conference on Oct. 16 in Stillwater. The event connects sectors of the agricultural industry and provides an accurate preview of market activity and trends for the upcoming year.
Who: Members of the agricultural community and those interested in local, state and national ag markets
What: One-day conference featuring informational sessions and presentations from OSU Ferguson College of Agriculture faculty and OSU Extension specialists. Conference topics include:
- Impact of the Agricultural Insurance Market on the Ag Industry, Randy Daniels, chief risk officer, Triangle Insurance
- Research updates from the OSU Department of Agricultural Economics, Aleks Schaefer, assistant professor
- Value-Added Enterprises, Rodney Holcomb, OSU agricultural economics professor and Charles B. Browning Endowed Professorship in Food Science, OSU Extension specialist in food economics
- Livestock Market Outlook, Derrell Peel, OSU agricultural economics professor and Charles Breedlove Professorship in Agribusiness, OSU Extension specialist in livestock marketing
- Livestock Risk Protection Insurance for Feeder Cattle: Applications and Challenges, Kenny Burdine, co-director, Extension professor in livestock economics, University of Kentucky
