All ages to compete in pecan food show at Oklahoma Pecan Growers Conference

Oklahoma State University Extension and the Oklahoma Pecan Growers Association will host the 2024 Oklahoma Pecan Growers Conference, Trade Show and Field Day May 30 through June 1.

Who:
Commercial pecan growers, pecan hobbyists, Extension educators and anyone interested in growing pecans is welcome to attend.

What and When:
1-5 p.m., May 30: Mini-pecan class offering two private applicator continuing education units, followed by a social and vendors. Learn about exhibit and sponsorship opportunities.

11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., May 31: Awards luncheon.

8 a.m. to 5 p.m., May 31: State pecan food show, vendors and an educational program featuring industry news.

8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., June 1: Field day for pecan producers at Buchanan Family Pecan Farm, near Dickson.

Pecan Food Show
Bakers and cooks of all ages are welcome to enter pecan-themed products and recipes in the two-day pecan food show. Category and class winners will be recognized in adult and junior divisions.

Where:
Ardmore Convention Center, 2401 N. Rockford Rd., Ardmore.

Why:
As one of the nation's top five pecan-producing states, Oklahoma pecan growers average about 15 million pounds of pecans per year. Oklahoma also ranks second nationwide in native pecan production.

Registration:
Register online. $100 for Oklahoma Pecan Growers Association members, $150 for non-members.
