- Karl Rich, OSU international agricultural programs director, talks with SUNUP host Lyndall Stout about how study abroad programs work and the value they provide in rounding out a student’s college education.
- Bruce Whitelaw, director of the Roslin Institute at the University of Edinburgh in Scotland, sits down with Derrell Peel, OSU Extension livestock marketing specialist, for a conversation about the genetic research that led to the development of Dolly the sheep.
- Dan Stein, OSU associate professor of animal breeding and reproduction, discusses the advancements in animal science genetics that came after the introduction of Dolly the sheep.
- Mark Johnson, OSU Extension beef cattle breeding specialist, explains CRISPR gene editing technology and how it’s used to improve livestock disease resistance, heat tolerance and other factors.
- Finally, Kurtis Hair wraps us coverage from Scotland with a farm visit hosted by Alastair Macrae, chair of animal health/production and dairy herd manager at the Royal Dick School of Veterinary Studies at the University of Edinburgh.
