2021 Genny Coffman Lifetime Master Gardener
Friday, December 3, 2021
Each year the Kay County Master Gardeners recognize an outstanding member of their organization. The Lifetime Gardener for the 2021 year is Genny Coffman of Ponca City, OK and was awarded at the December 2021 meeting. Genny has held multiple leadership positions and is always looking to help the organization and community.
Genny Coffman was a Registered Nurse for 42 years and has always had a passion for helping others. Genny found similarities in the Kay County Master Gardener program as she has been dedicated a dedicated member for almost 21 years. She decided to take the Master Gardener Training offered by the local OSU Extension Office in 2001, after taking a brief retirement from the health department, and then went back into nursing in 2003. While in Kay County Master Gardener she has served as president in 2002, presented “Bitten by the Gardening Bug” a program on common stinging and biting insects, and educational programs on pollinators and butterflies. Please join the Kay County OSU Extension office, and Kay County Master Gardeners in congratulating Mrs. Genny Coffman.
