Serving and Inspiring Youth and Families
United We Can works to enhance academic achievement among middle school students enrolled at East Central Middle School, Hale Middle School, Monroe Demonstration Academy, and Rogers Middle School. We want to equip students with skills to be successful, empower their families and promote opportunities to strengthen positive peer relationships. Our aim is for every child to graduate high school and have the opportunity to pursue a higher education.
Summer Program
Free to students currently enrolled in the program in 6th, 7th, and 8th grade at Hale Middle School, East Central Middle School, Monroe Demonstration Academy, and Rogers Middle School. Students will enjoy field trips and workshops throughout the summer.
Three Pillars of Engagement
Friendships
Youth develop positive relationships while on field trips, exploring possible careers, and engaging in fun activities that build resilience.
Family Participation
A series of workshops use entertaining videos and hands-on activities to engage youths and their parents in discussions about topics such as growth mindset, habit information, problem solving, grit, and more.
Life Skills
Youth learn life skills by pairing them with a coach who works with them to: Develop an individualized success plan, form goals and habits to achieve them, overcome obstacles and problems, and prepare for college and career entry.
