In her role as the OSU Extension 4-H Youth Development educator in Pottawatomie County, Kortni works with youth, volunteers and community partners to provide educational opportunities that help young people build leadership, life skills and confidence through hands-on learning.
Originally from McLoud, Oklahoma, Kortni has deep roots in the 4-H program. She participated in Pottawatomie County 4-H from age 10 through high school and credits the program with shaping her as a leader and person. Through 4-H, she also met both her best friend and her husband. Returning to serve the county where her own 4-H journey began is especially meaningful to her.
Kortni earned a bachelor’s degree in agricultural sciences and natural resources with a major in animal science from OSU in 2021. Her primary Extension knowledge areas include agricultural literacy, animal science, STEM and genetics/biotechnology.
Outside of work, Kortni enjoys time with her two dogs, Boeing, a charcoal labrador, and Blitz, a German shorthair pointer. She also helps operate a family Boer goat farm in McLoud alongside her parents.
