Biography

Daela Nichols is a proud native of Carter County, where she serves as the Oklahoma State University Extension family and consumer sciences and 4-H Youth Development educator. She is committed to helping rural communities thrive by connecting people with practical resources and research-based education. She earned a master’s degree in human resources and a bachelor’s degree in human services counseling from East Central University.

Before joining OSU Extension, she spent more than 20 years in the nonprofit sector, leading community outreach initiatives, developing programs, coordinating volunteers, managing public relations and providing strategic planning. Throughout her career, she has focused on creating supportive, solution-oriented environments that empower individuals and families to build life skills, strengthen resilience and achieve their goals.

As an FCS educator, she draws from this experience to address issues that matter most to Oklahomans, including rural community development, environmental safety and healthy aging. She is passionate about helping individuals, families and older adults access the knowledge and tools they need to improve their quality of life and successfully age in place while strengthening the communities they call home.
