About Me

Megan Ferrell serves as the family and consumer sciences and 4-H youth development educator for Oklahoma State University Extension in Alfalfa County.

A native of Miami, Oklahoma, she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in human environmental sciences from OSU in 2008. During her time at OSU, she met her husband, Bo, and the couple has since made their home in Burlington, Oklahoma.

Megan brings nearly a decade of Extension experience to her role. She previously served with OSU Extension in Nowata County from 2008 to 2010 and with K-State Research and Extension in Harper County, Kansas, from 2011 to 2014. After spending several years working in early childhood education while raising her young children, she returned to Extension in August 2022 to serve the county where her family lives, farms and ranches.

Her programming is dedicated to strengthening individuals, families and communities through research-based education. Megan’s areas of expertise include family and consumer sciences, 4-H youth development, healthy living, food and nutrition, food preservation and food safety, financial management, parenting and child care education, leadership development and community engagement. She is especially passionate about creating hands-on learning experiences that equip participants with practical skills they can apply in their daily lives.

Megan is committed to helping Oklahomans build knowledge and confidence to improve their well-being, strengthen family relationships, develop lifelong skills and contribute to thriving communities throughout Alfalfa County and northwest Oklahoma.
