• With New World Screwworm inching closer to the U.S. border, the Oklahoma Department of Agriculture, Food and Forestry partners with OSU Extension on a workshop to train those who will respond if the pest makes its way to Oklahoma.
• In the Mesonet weather report, state climatologist Gary McManus shows a worsening drought map and says the possibility of extreme heat returns next week.
• Derrell Peel, OSU Extension livestock marketing specialist, discusses the worsening drought in the United States and its impact on herd rebuilding.
• In Cow-Calf Corner, Mark Johnson, OSU Extension beef cattle breeding specialist, speaks with Mason Henson, OSU animal and food sciences assistant professor, about the best time to turn cattle out on bermudagrass.
• Just in time for graduation, SUNUP Host Lyndall Stout learns how a senior design project in the OSU Department of Biosystems and Agricultural Engineering is addressing a real-life streambank erosion and downstream runoff problem not far from campus. Interviews include Mari Chinn, professor and department head, Kevin Moore, assistant professor, and Tatumn Kennedy, the 2026 Ferguson College of Agriculture outstanding senior.
