Doye honored by Association of Public and Land-Grant Universities

Damona Doye, Oklahoma State University Extension associate vice president, has been recognized by the Association of Public and Land-Grant Universities (APLU) for completing the Food Systems Leadership Institute’s executive leadership development program, as well as for her contributions to higher education and food systems.

The FSLI is a two-year program designed for experienced leaders in academia, government and industry. Its curriculum includes individual coaching, mentoring, personal projects and executive style residential sessions to further develop participants’ personal leadership abilities, skills and knowledge for organizational change, and to broaden perspectives on integrated food systems.

“The FSLI program challenged me to better understand myself and others. The unique combination of discussion with accomplished leaders, eye-opening exercises, book assignments and personal inventories was thought-provoking,” Doye said. “The instructors and my classmates provided great insights and support.” 

Institute fellows are using their enhanced leadership and broader food systems perspectives to lead change from their current positions.  

“My aim is to serve OSU Extension to the best of my abilities and through that work, serve our stakeholders and our employees well,” said Doye, an OSU alumna and faculty member since 1986.

The FSLI is a program of the nonprofit APLU, created with financial support from the W.K. Kellogg Foundation and operated in a partnership between North Carolina State University, Ohio State University and California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo.
