Live Well, Eat Well, Be Active with Diabetes

L.E.A.D. might sound like a mantra for healthy living, but it’s actually the name of an Oklahoma Cooperative Extension Service program that provides tools, resources and hope to individuals across the state who are managing the chronic condition free of charge. This program addresses a significant information gap in rural areas, where medical practitioners are often overwhelmed and dietitians are scarce, empowering individuals with the skills and knowledge to manage their diabetes effectively.

Cost-Effective Offerings & Appealing Food Demonstrations

Over four weeks, participants in the L.E.A.D. program can enjoy healthy diabetic recipes such as corn muffins, veggie dip and chocolate cake. Emphasizing a positive approach, L.E.A.D. focuses on what participants can eat in moderation rather than restrictions.
