About Me

I am a graduate of Oklahoma State University, and hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Agricultural Communications and a Minor in Horticulture. I grew up on a cattle, wheat and alfalfa farm in NW Oklahoma. I also married into an agriculture rooted family where my husband, children and I operate a cow-calf operation and are involved in junior livestock exhibition.

Being an Extension Educator allows me the opportunity to connect with the youth and their families to establish a relationship for cultivation of personal growth on a variety of topics. Our county 4-H theme is: “We’ve Gotta Good Thing Growing.” For that theme to hold true year after year, we keep doing what has worked well in the past, add new events and projects each year and maintain a strong volunteer network.

The programs and opportunities we offer 4-H members incorporate hands-on training to develop real life skills critical for success past high school. It gives me great joy to see 4-H members grow and learn to attain success. Involving adult leaders from our local communities in our programming establishes credibility between the youth and adults. Having a strong relationship with the community for educational and financial support is important. I am happy to partner with growing our 4-H Youth in Washita County.
