What is Master Wellness Volunteer?
The object of this program is to train individuals who are interested in health and
wellness with current research-based information. Volunteers assist the Family and
Consumer Sciences program at the Oklahoma County OSU Extension Center. The program
is designed for individuals with at least a high school degree or equivalent, with
a true interest in health and wellness, and would enjoy volunteering and sharing research-based
information with others.
The training focuses on nutrition, dietary guidelines, food safety, healthy lifestyle
choices, physical activity, stress management, mindfulness and additional wellness
subjects.
Upon becoming a Master Wellness Volunteer and completing the training, volunteers
are encouraged to assist with or lead educational wellness activities.
