Areas of Expertise
Child Development and Family Science
I am from Tulare, California, an area of prominent agricultural production in the Central Valley. I’ve always enjoyed cooking and food and knew I wanted to pursue a college degree in this area. As a student at Fresno State University, I couldn’t find a major related to my interests, so I successfully petitioned to create my own and graduated with a degree in home economics in 2019. I taught home economics in California for two years before following my family to Oklahoma.
My Oklahoma State University Extension role in Logan County is 75% based in 4-H and family and consumer sciences as well as 25% based in family and consumer sciences in Noble County. I specialize in child development and family science, food science and nutrition. I’m also involved in the OSU Extension Oklahoma Home and Community Education program where I prepare and facilitate leader lessons that are presented to the community.
