About Me

Longtime Pittsburg County Extension Director Ted Evicks convinced me I should join OSU Extension, back when I was an agricultural education teacher. Here I am, 25 years later, and it’s been everything Ted said. I especially enjoy working with agricultural producers, the Latimer County Cattlemen’s Association and young people. As a beef and forage producer myself, I am well aware of the issues and concerns we in Oklahoma agriculture face, from the ground up, so to speak. The support we provide Latimer County residents and communities through our county fair activities and 4-H and FFA livestock programs is a testament to our land-grant mission, as is the camaraderie of all involved. When you make learning interesting, you stand a better chance to improve awareness and understanding, not to mention adoption of preferred practices. That is my goal, and my pleasure. I hold an associate degree in agricultural education from Eastern Oklahoma State College and a bachelor’s degree in agricultural education from OSU.
